Each giveaway license covers 10 to 30 devices, but the coverage period has not been disclosed.

Consumer and business banking customers of the NatWest Group, including NatWest Bank, Royal Bank of Scotland, Isle of Man Bank, NatWest International and Ulster Bank will be getting free cybersecurity solutions to protect their digital experiences when doing online banking and other internet activities.

The free premium license for downloading the cybersecurity software covers up to 10 devices for personal users and on up to 30 devices for business customers. Until May 2022, users can download the Malwarebytes software from their online banking portal after logging in.

According to Alasdair MacFarlane, Head of Fraud Prevention, NatWest: “Keeping our customers safe and secure is of paramount importance to us. We are the only UK bank to offer premium virus protection to our customers for free and are working with Malwarebytes to deliver this.”

The new customer offering is experiencing positive adoption rates, quickly reaching the initial target of the NatWest Group. The program has clocked over 100,000 customer downloads to date and further efforts are planned to increase awareness amongst their customer base.

Malwarebytes CEO Marcin Kleczynski said: “Providing digital protection, productivity, and peace of mind to customers is increasingly critical for companies and consumers as the threat landscape continues to rapidly evolve,” and that his firm is thrilled to be able to partner with innovative, socially-responsible organizations like NatWest Group that are going above and beyond to ensure the safety of their customers.
